Got money to lend ??

A long time friend smsed me yesterday.

AL - How lately, I need a favor. Loan me some money urgent for family.

Me - Only got some spare cash. Let me know how much you need. See if can help.

AL - $800 to 1000. If convenient, will return when i get my bonus in Dec.

Me - Can only spare $500 now.

AL - Tks. When can i get it from you?

Later, he called me up to apologise and say will meet up to let me know what happen. As he is an officer with the Army, and earning stable income, i quite perplexed abt this whole money lending incident.. What could have happen?? Hopefully not because of gambling..

This is the third time that friends have actually ask for a loan from me this year. After reaching adulthood, it seems everyone is short of money. In todays society, there is no "ren qin" only talk "money". I am declaring, stop coming to me for money please, i also short of money.. Also got a few mouths to feed.. I also need pple to lend me money.

Should protray a poorer image from now onwards. You know, it's quite hard to turn down pple. Sometimes, even when you have no money to lend, in order not to hurt their feeling, you got to think of valid reasons to turn them down.. Like my money park in stocks lar blah blah.. No money cos got to pay car loan and everything.. quite tight over at my end too..

It's not that I am unwilling to help but the concern is "talk money would spoil the relationship".
